The mission of The Wandering Goat Cafe is to perfect the preparation of our coffee and espresso while implementing the most sustainable, organic practices available.
The Wandering Goat Cafe has its own bakery, focused on vegan, organic baked goods and made with as many local ingredients as possible. Some of the established favorites here are biscuits and gravy, bagels, soup, and peanut butter bars.
At the cafe our offerings include: organic teas from both Mountain Rose Herbs and J-Tea, Dragonfly organic chai, a homemade vegan and organic chocolate sauce, organic soups, local & organic wine, organic mimosas, and locally brewed beers on tap alongside 20 organic bottled beers. We use Umpqua organic whole milk, syrups, and a wide variety of milk alternatives in our espresso beverages. We also offer organic juices, kombucha, and sodas.
Wandering Goat also serves to support and encourage community involvement. As a space that hosts local art and live music on a regular basis as well as hosting writers’ groups, we constantly strive to utilize the cafe space to best serve the community. Join us on a Last Friday Art Walk to see which Artist is being hosted during the month and enjoy complimentary organic, vegan snacks and wine.
The sustainable aspects of The Wandering Goat Cafe have always gone beyond the sourcing of environmentally friendly grown, organic coffee beans and roasting practices (for a more detailed list, go here). The cafe composts all food waste through the Love Food Not Waste program and additionally all to-go boxes/cups/lids/napkins/etc. are compostable.
We are also members of Oregon Tilth Certified Organic, Willamette Valley Sustainable Food Alliance, Café Femenino Coffee Co-Op, Eugene Local Foods, and more.
While compost program is run through the city of Eugene, we also offer our composted coffee grounds to the community for whoever would like it for your garden, farm, etc. If you are interested in picking up coffee grounds for your garden or any other project please help yourself to the community used coffee grounds found in front of the parking lot.
